In this refined cross stitch piece,
Gera! designer Kyoko Maruoka revisits the fascinating theme of the Lady and the Unicorn originally pictured in a medieval French tapestry. In this interpretaion, the lady is picture elegantly seated on a unicorn surrounded by lush, abundant flowers. Two little rabbits play below in the grass while birds fly above.
The work is entirely covered with cross stitches, with a soft, red background adding a warm glow to the piece. As an alternative, you could omit the background stitches and instead use a colored fabric.
Aida in coral would work well.
