John Henry Dearle Golden Lily Cross Stitch Bookmark Kit

4 items left

This counted cross stitch bookmark kit recreates Golden Lily, a richly detailed design of green foliage and entwined plants with pink, yellow, and blue flowers. Stitched in DMC embroidery floss in soft, muted tones, the finished bookmark has the gentle, timeless look of a classic Morris & Co. textile, perfect for keeping your place in a favorite book or giving to a fellow reader.

This kit is made by DMC, the French thread maker that has been producing embroidery floss since the 18th century, in partnership with the V&A in London, one of the world's great museums of art and design. John Henry Dearle was trained by William Morris himself, joining Morris & Co. as a teenager and eventually becoming the firm's Art Director.

Kit includes:

  • 14-count Aida fabric in 100% cotton, 15 x 30 cm (5.9 x 11.8 in)
  • DMC six-strand embroidery floss, pre-sorted on a thread organizer
  • Two backing cards for finishing your bookmark
  • Embroidery needle
  • Instructions in English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, and Japanese

Finished bookmark measures approx. 2 x 6.8 in (5.2 x 17.5 cm). With full coverage and frequent color changes, this design is a rewarding project for stitchers with some cross stitch experience.
