Hand Embroidered Plushie Doll Kit - Sheep
Make your own hand embroidered plushie doll with this fun kit by Kiriki Press. The doll pattern is screen printed by hand on cotton fabric, so you can get right to stitching. Once you are done with the embroidery, just sew the doll together using the instructions provided in the kit.
The sheep kit uses a variety of stitches that cover up most of the pattern surface. It's great for adventurous beginners or seasoned stitchers. The finished plushie is approximately 4-1/2 inches tall.
Kit contents:
- Screen printed pattern on unbleached cotton
- Printed backing fabric
- Embroidery needle
- DMC embroidery floss
- Eco-friendly stuffing
- Step-by-step instructions
The kit comes in a pretty screen printed box, so it's perfect for gift giving.
A 6-inch embroidery hoop (sold separately) is recommended for stitching.
I consider myself a quite adequate and experienced embroiderer but I really struggled with the instructions and the stitches on this. I ended up making up my own stitches like replacing bullion with French knots and the stitching for the sweater, I changed to a more weaving type of stitch. The instructions weren’t easy to follow and weren’t very helpful so I was guided by just the photo. I finally finished him after much frustration. I adore him though . I’m going to do another but will definitely start at Level 1 (this was Level 3 or 4 I think). I can usually do advanced embroidery but this one stumped me. They are certainly so unique and absolutely adorable.
I love this little sheep but found the kit way beyond my capabilities. Even with the help of tutorials I am unable to figure out how the stitches are done.
