Vintage Birds Cross Stitch Kit - Calendar Series, July 1969

This cross stitch bird design with a distinctly mid-century modern feel was originally published as part of a calendar made by the Danish Handcraft Guild in 1969. Hard to find in the US, these cross stitch designs have timeless appeal.

Imported from Denmark, this kit features heirloom-quality materials, including beautiful 100% linen and genuine Danish Flower Thread. Danish Flower Thread is a matte cotton thread that has been produced in Denmark since the early 1900's in a range of soft, muted colors. It is a non-divisible thread, meaning you do not separate it into strands like you do regular floss. Because of its tight twist, and the fact that it is a single strand, Danish Flower Thread makes very tidy, even cross stitches.

The finished design measures approximately 5-7/8" x 5-7/8".

Each kit makes one tree and includes the following materials:

  • 30-count linen
  • Danish Flower Cotton Embroidery Thread
  • Tapestry needle
  • Black and white stitching chart
  • Basic stitching instructions

The design is stitched with one strand of floss over two threads.
