Flying Geese Temperature Cross Stitch Pattern

This pattern is also available as a PDF Instant Download.

Create a personalized cross stitch design using the daily temperature at your home or other favorite location! Each little motif in this design represents a day of the year, and the color you use to stitch each depends on the temperature that day. The result is a cross stitch piece you get to work on throughout the year and that is unique to you!

You will receive two versions of the chart: one formatted for Leap Years like 2024, and one for non-Leap Years.

The daily motifs are small, so you only need to do 9 stitches per day. The chart includes a gorgeous palette of DMC colors that are mapped to specific temperatures, so it's easy to know which colors to use. The chart also includes a backstitch alphabet so you can add the location and year to the finished chart.

Based on a flying geese quilt pattern, this temperature cross stitch design is simple and modern. The finished piece is designed to fit in an 8" x 10" frame when stitched on 14ct Aida/28ct Linen. Stitch it for yourself or to give as a gift!

Bundle options:

  • Stitching area: 93 stitches wide x 119 stitches high
  • Finished size: 6.6" x 8.5" on 14-count Aida or 28-count Linen
  • Thread: DMC

Flying Geese Temperature Cross Stitch Patter

We were a month in to the new year when I found this pattern by accident. I ordered it and recieved it and have caught it up to todays date which is Feb. 15, 2023. Love the pattern and it is such an easy stitch. Nine stitches a day and I am up to date. I am enjoying doing the stitch and it combines my love of quilting and cross stitching.

January done!

Fun to do, but I chose 16count Aida which makes the cross stitches is a bit too small to see without some magnification…or good reading glasses!
