Create pretty patterned pincushion with this kogin embroidery kit. This stitching technique is simple to learn, and the kit comes with everything you need, including the lovely wood bowl!
Kogin is a form of sashiko stitching that uses running stitches to create a repeating geometric pattern. Similar to pattern darning, kogin is quick to learn and fun to stitch!
Kogin is a counted thread technique, so the pattern is not printed on the fabric like in other forms of sashiko. Instead you follow a stitching chart just like you do in cross stitch.
Each kit makes one pincushion that measures approximately 2-1/2 inches in diameter. Choose from four different designs.
Kit includes:
- Linen fabric
- Cotton thread
- Kogin needle
- Wood bowl
- Stitching chart
The instructions included in the kit are in Japanese only, but we have a detailed introduction to kogin stitching on our blog to get you started!
