Designed in the style of a medieval tapestry, Jane Austen's Elizabeth Bennett is shown sitting under a tree immersed in her book while a lion rests peacefully on her lap. A lush field of colorful flowers surround the pair. Japanese designer
Kyoko Maruoka (Gera!) draws inspiration from the 16th-century tapestry
The Lady and the Unicorn, as well as Austen's
Pride and Prejudice for this whimsical pattern.
This piece is entirely covered with cross stitches to mimic the style of a tapestry. As an alternative, you could omit the background stitches and instead use a colored fabric.
Aida in navy would work well.
